This series of work deals with imagery from my dreams and imagination. These images take place in an unreal setting or liminal/subliminal state where the potential for any number of actions is possible, much like the state in which dreams take place. I find this state fascinating because ordinary objects become imbued with symbolism. In a sense, I want to transform the external world to reflect the internal world of my imagination. These images reflect my desire to believe that there is something beyond the world and reality in the way I perceive it. In each image, the figure performs a symbolic gesture or takes part in a process that is symbolic. As in the dream state, they have a kind of internal logic. These processes make sense, but need not be rational or realistic.
