Charles left his home in Indianapolis several years ago to come to South Florida for the warmer climate. Charles has a disease that makes his bones brittle and the weather back home made his bones hurt. He moved inland from the riverfront in Ft. Lauderdale because a homeless man was beaten to death several days before I met him. He had also switched from sleeping at night to sleeping during the day for fear he'd be attacked.
